My Approach

I utilize an eclectic style of treatment, drawing on various aspects of psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, family systems and cognitive-behavioral theories to customize an approach for each individual and their particular issues.

Psychodynamic theory is insight-oriented. The work focuses on both conscious and unconscious processes that drive behavior and feelings.

Family Systems theory is focused on understanding how an individual’s childhood family operated and how that experience has shaped their role in relationships now.

Psychoanalytic theory focuses on examining patterns of current thinking and behavior that are often rooted in the past.

Cognitive-Behavioral theory incorporates assisting clients in identifying, testing and correcting dysfunctional beliefs that underlie their thinking.
